Uwe has more than 20 years of professional experience in industry research. He joined Eurescom, the leading organisation for managing collaborative R&D in telecommunications, more than 15 years ago as programme manager, focusing on the areas of service platforms and mobile communication networks. In these areas he has managed a large number of studies and projects on topics which are of concern to the Eurescom member community of European telecom network operators. He has served as coordinator or project manager of several RTD projects under the European framework programmes. Uwe has also got experience in business and economic aspects from his MBA, from participating to innovation / spin-off activities at Deutsche Telekom and from serving as evaluator in the H2020 SME instrument focusing on Open Disruptive Innovation. He is member of the editorial board of the Eurescom mess@ge magazine and has authored several articles for the magazine. He is co-editor and contributor of the “5G and Media & Entertainment” white paper.

He is currently Director of green communcation research center of China Mobile Research Institute. He graduated and got his Ph.D degree from Beijng University of Posts & Telecommucations and then joined China Mobile Research Institute in 2003. His responsibility is research and standardization of new wireless technologies, currently he is focusing on 5G and beyond, C-RAN(Cloud RAN) and novel green communication technologies.

Akira Matsunaga received B.S.E.E and M.S.E.E degrees from the University of Tokyo in 1981 and 1983, respectively. He joined KDD Co. Ltd. (currnetly KDDI Corporation) in 1983 and was engaged in R&D of satellite communications, strategic technology planning of mobile network, and development of mobile radio access network. 


He is currently engaged in the strategic planning of 5G mobile technology. He also serves as an Acting Chair of Technical Committee of 5GMF (The 5th Generation Mobile Communication Promotion Forum) in Japan. He was the Vice Chair of TSG-S of 3GPP2 during 2001-2004.

Mr. Jin-Hyo Park as the Senior Vice President of Network Technology R&D Center is currently responsible for developing mobile networks and device technologies at SK Telecom.

 

He joined SK Telecom at 1997, and worked for the IRIDIUM project and 3GPP standardization. From 2004, he has not only contributed commercialization of WCDMA and HSDPA/HSUPA, but also took a responsibility for the R&D strategy of SK Telecom. Since 2009, he has successfully led the Korea-first LTE launch, the world-first multi-carrier deployment, the world-first nation-wide HD Voice (VoLTE) commercialization, the world-first LTE-A (Carrier Aggregation) commercialization, and directing LTE evolution and beyond LTE-A of SK Telecom as head of Access Network Lab. He became head of Network Technology R&D Center as Senior Vice President in 2013. His current interest mainly focuses on next generation communication system like LTE-A, B4G, SON/SDN/NFV and next device technologies.

 

He received a Bachelor degree in the department of Mathematics and a Master degree in the Information & Communication Engineering at Korea University.

With more than 29 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, Mr. Pearson is a recognized spokesperson in mobile wireless and 5G technology trends and has spoken at technology conferences throughout the world including CES, Mobile World Congress, CTIA, LTE World, 5G World North America, and 5G Forum USA.
